Penny War!

The Penny War began today! Please see below for the rules.

This year, along with our annual Bucfest activities, the Parent Council is holding a Penny Jar Contest! We will be placing a pumpkin container outside of each classroom and the classroom that fills their pumpkin first wins a pizza party! To make it more competitive, we have made specific rules for certain grade levels. Please see below for your grade’s category.

There will be ONE winner per division.

Pre K through 1^st - Pennies only. The class that fills up their pumpkin first wins!

2^nd and 3^rd - Silver Only. Nickels, dimes and quarters only. The class that fills theirs first wins!

4^th and 5^th - Pennies ONLY with a TWIST.  Each classroom will want to put as many pennies in their pumpkin as possible. Each penny will count as a “point”. To deduct points from another class the children may place any silver coin(s) or dollar(s). The coin worth will be the amount of points that will be deducted from that pumpkin. Example : 500 pennies are placed in a class’s pumpkin. An opposing class places 5 quarters in that pumpkin. The class will have to deduct 125 pennies.

The class with the most POINTS wins the pizza party. 

Deadline is scheduled for 3:00 the day of Bucfest. We will extend if we do not have winners from the 3 different categories.

County Jail Rules!

County Jail
This will be placed in the courtyard in  between the cafeteria and gym. Some teachers will be put in a "cell" after their Buc Olympics schedule and will have to collect 10 tickets for their bond to be released. 
Children can place any person in a "cell" for a bounty of 2 tickets. They must go find the person they have a bounty out for and bring them back to the jail. When placed in "jail" the person has 2 choices, either pay a 3 ticket bond to be released or stay in their "cell" for 3 minutes. If a child does not want to placed in "jail" we will not make them.
We will also be hiding "Get Out of Jail Free cards" throughout the festival, if a child finds one they can either use it for themselves or give it to someone else who needs to make "bond".
